I almost hesitate to write this post, because it\u2019s slightly off my general topics of music marketing, the home studio, building your online presence, etc. But the fact that i almost hesitated to write this, is very ironic and has to do with the main point of the post, so i hope that means it will be a useful lesson for you today.<\/p>\n
I learned this in the Army, and i\u2019ve had to learn how to apply it to making music and creating content.<\/p>\n
You know that twinge of doubt, that slightly fleeting moment of question about whether or not to proceed with something, whether it be a blog post, an action, a decision of any kind really…?<\/p>\n
Well you have to kill that. Never hesitate even if you are wrong. You need to go about your business and act intensely on your decisions as if you know 100% that you are right.<\/p>\n
See i deeply understand that. But i\u2019ve found that creating content online i fall into the trap of trying to perfect everything, and think that if i don\u2019t get what i\u2019m trying to say just right, my concept, my song, that lyric line… If i don\u2019t get that exactly the best it can be…. Then some little voice in the background is going to poke his head up and so scornfully expose every flaw.<\/p>\n
But you cannot fall victim to this… Especially with what you are doing online.<\/p>\n
You\u2019ve heard this before probably, but as you may have also learned, there is a large gap between hearing and thinking you know, and actually knowing from experience.<\/p>\n
The lesson, never hesitate. Just don\u2019t do it. And this one, unlike most things which end up being relative, is pretty applicable to just about anything i can think of.<\/p>\n
Get into that rhythm, and once you find it, don\u2019t lost that flow for the second guessing that could put you out of it.<\/p>\n
So the actionable exercise that i can give you for today is:<\/strong><\/p>\n Pretend, for the whole day, that EVERY SINGLE THING you do TODAY, is EXACTLY, without any question, THE exact things you are supposed to be doing.
