But for those who cannot afford that, need to get something up right away, or want to tackle the task as the lone ranger, here are some tips to writing a better artist bio.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Artist Bio &#8211; Writing Tips<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Remember WHO you are writing this FOR.<\/p>\n<p>You are writing this for industry professionals and contacts you want to impress.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Take inventory<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>List out your accomplishments, goals as a musician, and everything interesting and related to your style and music.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Interview yourself<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Act like you are interviewing yourself to gather information by asking yourself questions, and then write about yourself AS someone else. Or, you could ask someone else to ask you questions\u2026 of course.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Interview your friends and family<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Get feedback from friends, family, and fans you know. Pay attention to and note the descriptions, phrases, and words they use.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Write about yourself in the third person<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Artist bio\u2019s are almost always written in the third person, which makes them sound more professional, and makes them sound like its not <em>you<\/em> talking about how great <em>you<\/em> are.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Structure your bio clearly and concisely<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This isn&#8217;t your life story, stick to your biggest achievements and accomplishments.<br \/>\nRemember that every word should count.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Add relevant press and quotations<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Be sure to include credits, accolades, quotes from industry professionals that is inline with your message.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Your artist bio is a work in progress<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Remember that your bio is something that is growing and developing as you, your music and your life do.<\/p>\n<p>Your bio is something that is short enough to obsess over, but don&#8217;t do that. Get it as good as you can at the time, and then come back and revise, revise, revise.
